Suitable for use with a wide assortment of grinding, drilling and sawing glass equipment,聽sedimentors from Bohle聽use a sophisticated and automated, multi-stage process to remove contaminants from coolants and water.

This includes filtering of glass particles of < 5 碌m or less but doing so using far less energy, creating a closed-loop and ultra-green cooling system.

Paul Miller, Sales Manager, Bohle, said: 鈥淲e鈥檙e delighted to have made the finals for the second time. Sedimentors deliver better edge quality, extend the life of your tooling and can give you back a day鈥檚 production a week 鈥 doing all of that while massively reducing the impact of your business on the environment and reducing waste-water disposal costs. They make your business more efficient 鈥 but just as importantly, infinitely more sustainable.鈥

According to Bohle, clean water, especially with added coolant increases the performance of machinery by up to 20 per cent and the service life of tools by up to 30 per cent - but it can all too easily become contaminated with particles from drilling, polishing and grinding. This carries a potentially far higher price tag in lost man hours, falling product quality, in addition to reduced service life of equipment. It also carries potentially unlimited fines for those companies who are found to be disposing of waste-water, irresponsibly.

Paul continued: 鈥淪ustainability should be part of doing business. It鈥檚 good for the environment and pays for itself 鈥 and rightly, if you鈥檙e caught polluting, you鈥檙e going to face some pretty hefty fines. This doesn鈥檛 make sense when reducing your environmental impact delivers so many additional benefits to your business 鈥 or when there are grants available to help fund 50% of the purchase costs. On top of that a sedimentor can cut costs of waste-water disposal and downtime by 10% and pay for itself in as little as a year. That鈥檚 a massive win for anyone processing glass鈥, he concluded.
