When it comes to the building facade, there is much to explore, and FTI is aggressively inclusive in its mission to bring together the diverse voices that comprise the building industry in an uncensored conversation about all things building skin. Our 2026 conference theme continues this inclusive spirit:
Face Time 2026: Bringing Together the Many Voices of the Building Industry
There is, after all, little in buildings and urban habitats that is not, in some way, affected by the building facade, with impacts that range broadly across both aesthetic and performative considerations. The 2026 World Congress will reflect this broad spectrum of impact and invites you to join the dialogue.
Submission and Review Process
Submissions will undergo a two-stage blind peer-review process by the FTI鈥檚 Scientific, Technical and Artistic Review (STAR) Committee, composed of more than 100 industry and academic leaders. To learn more about this process, please review our . Accepted papers will be published on the Facade Tectonics Institute鈥檚 website.
We invite abstracts addressing any aspect of buildings and urban habitat through the lens of the building facade. Topics include, but are not limited to:

Requirements
- At least one author per accepted paper must register and pay the discounted author registration fee.
- FTI Membership is required. Renew or learn more about.
- Presentations will be delivered live in person at the World Congress. In some instances, presentations may be pre-recorded.

Facades Week: Pittsburgh 2026
Events are being planned before, during, and after the Congress as part of Facades Week 2026, including receptions, networking events, dinners, and tours. A range of recommended hotels will be available for registered participants. Stay tuned for announcements on facadetectonics.org.
