The Gloucester-based trade and commercial fabricator was tasked with manufacturing and supplying Sapa’s renowned Elegance 52 curtain walling. Chosen for its versatility, efficiency and aesthetic appeal, the curtain walling system was installed in blocks two, three and six of the building, including Gloucester Police Station.

Working alongside commercial installer Alfram and Gloucestershire County Council, the new curtain walling is just one part of the large-scale renovation. The combination of Elegance 52, along with photovoltaic solar panels and DF 75 Si Reversible windows means Shire Hall meets the council’s energy usage aims, creating one of the most energy-efficient offices in England.

“With such a tight brief from Gloucestershire County Council and clear aims to improve the sustainability and performance of Shire Hall, we liaised with our longstanding supply partner CDW Systems to find the optimal curtain walling solution,” comments Chris Beacham, Director of Alfram and Contracts Manager for the project.
