Dave is passionate about building the future of glass through serious academic application, close partnership with industry, and a total commitment to skilling its personnel. An acute political observer, he was a key driver in the foundation of Glass Futures.

He has worked in the sector for over 35 years, originally in R&D and over the past decade as the political lead for the glass manufacturing sector in the UK. Dave is a passionate advocate of technology and innovation and works closely with BEIS driving the Industrial Strategy agenda.

As CEO of the British Glass Manufacturers’ Confederation, he leads the representation of the UK glass industry in the political arena through the trade association members, and also sits on numerous committees, working groups, boards and review panels at both UK and EU level.
