Eastman is excited to introduce Saflex LiteCarbon Clear, the latest innovation in polyvinyl butyral (PVB) interlayers, now available in Europe. Developed to address the growing need for low-embodied-carbon building materials, LiteCarbon Clear offers a solution that reduces the carbon footprint of laminated glass while maintaining safety and aesthetic qualities critical for glazing.

With a carbon footprint of only 2.4 kg CO₂ eq/sqm, this first-generation interlayer reduces emissions by 33% compared to conventional Saflex Clear PVB interlayer. Its upcoming EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) verification by International EPD® System will ensure credibility and trust within the industry.

This lower-carbon PVB interlayer also allows architects and engineers to achieve their project’s embodied carbon goals and contributes to green building certifications such as LEED and BREEAM.
