The strain on installers due to pressure on the supply chain, record levels of demand, rising costs, and a worsening skills shortage, will take centre stage at the Glazing Summit.

Industry heavyweights, including Gary Morton, CEO of Central Window Systems, Ryan Schofield, Director of Thames Valley Windows, and Will Hickman, MD of Solarframe will take to the stage to take part in the installer debate 鈥榃ho wants to be an installer in 2021?鈥

The event, which takes place on Thursday, October 21 at Edgbaston Stadium and Conference Centre, Birmingham, will bring together several firms to share their experience and highlight the tough issues they face.

From labour shortages and price-increases months after jobs have been sold, to managing customer expectations in a compensation and social-media culture, everything will be tackled.

The debate will also deep-dive into the latest consumer trends, from high-demand products to online quotes and ordering.

Andrew Scott, Glazing Summit founder, said: 鈥淲hen it comes to lead times and operational efficiencies, often it鈥檚 the installers operating at the sharp end of the industry that are actually bearing the brunt.鈥

鈥淚mmense pressure due to demand is not only causing problems on lead times but also quality of product, which can mean delays, and putting work off is bad for business.

鈥淲ith no sign of things slowing down anytime soon, the challenges are causing installers no end of frustration, and installers could be forgiven for wondering 鈥榳hat鈥檚 next?鈥

鈥淲e wanted to choose controversial topics for this year鈥檚 Glazing Summit and the gloves are likely to come off for our installer debate. We鈥檙e preparing for some sparks to fly.鈥

The one-day, no-nonsense conference for industry leaders and business owners across the glass and glazing industry will discuss the biggest issues with a combination of debates, discussions, and keynotes.

More than 300 leaders from across the industry are set to attend the Glazing Summit. .
