She presented the participants with a speech with Considerations on Circular Economy for the European Building Glass Sector.

During her speech, she explained the opportunities of circularity and recycling for architectural flat glass, as well as the positive results of the proactive initiatives by Glass for Europe’s member companies. She also illustrated the hurdles faced by the sector in its ambition to tap into the end-of-life building glass potential, and proposed a series of reflections on possible supportive actions, including at political and regulatory levels. The speech inaugurated a workshop dedicated to Façades and Sustainability.

The seminar focused on a series of research projects and innovative technologies which support the adaptation of facades to new climate conditions, from heat to water, with also a focus on artificial intelligence and augmented reality. The conclusions lead to strengthening the belief that tailor-made solutions to local characteristics, opportunities and challenges will continue to represent the main trend, with as corollary the importance of the human factor and the ability to adapt.
