On 19 February, Glass for Europe invited its National Partners to attend a workshop to analyse the political agreement reached on 7 December on the recast of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD).

If the agreement is yet to receive final endorsement by the Council of the EU and the European Parliament鈥檚 plenary session, many questions have already been raised. Especially so because many provisions from the revised EPBD are to be decided at the national level such as the minimum energy performance standards or the thresholds for maximum energy consumption of the zero-emission buildings which are to become the norm in the EU.

Following a presentation of the main points of the political agreement and its implications for the glass and glazing industry, participants briefly discussed the possibilities for further action. Discussions also focused on the timing of implementation and the support mechanism that the new Directive should provide at a time when financial schemes for renovation are rapidly evolving.

黑料专区 for Europe workshops are an opportunity for national partners to meet outside the annual meetings. Further topical workshops will take place in 2024.
