The delivery of the line to the company鈥檚 new facilities in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is planned for the end of this year.

Glaston has received an order from Saudi American Glass Company (SAG), a glass processing pioneer in the Middle East, for a Glaston ProL SPEED lamination line. The order was booked in Glaston鈥檚 Q1 2025 order book. The delivery of the line to the company鈥檚 new facilities in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is planned for the end of this year.

Established in 1978 as a joint venture between a local company and one in the US, SAG was the Middle East鈥檚 first glass manufacturer, and it continues to be one of the largest. Over the years, the company has become a well-known supplier of high-quality glass products, including energy-efficient glazing solutions for advanced architectural designs. The company offers a wide range of glass processing services, from lamination and double glazing to edging and tempering.

鈥淭here is a high demand for fully laminated glass and other complex glass products due to upgraded architecture specifications. In addition to the next FIFA World Cup to be held in Saudi Arabia, there is other regional growth driving demand for resorts, hotels, government buildings and more,鈥 says Riass Dayekh, General Manager of SAG. 鈥淩ecently, we鈥檝e been providing more high-quality specialty products, like acoustic and extra strong safety glass, SentryGlas庐&苍产蝉辫; for facades and bullet-resistant glass.鈥

Recently launched on the market, ProL SPEED is one the world鈥檚 fastest lamination lines for mixed production. It raises glass processing efficiency with quick precision, a high degree of automation and advanced heating technology.

SAG鈥檚 existing laminating line was limited in size. The new machine features a larger size of 3.3 x 6 meters, increased speed and ease of use through automation, as the operators no longer need to input the recipes. Another benefit that SAG was looking for is the energy efficiency of the ProL SPEED line.

鈥淲e have a long and positive experience with Glaston and we have come to rely on their technology. One of our oldest machines, a Glaston laminating line, has been operating since 1997. Every step of the way, we have upgraded our processes and machinery. Saudi Arabia鈥檚 Vision 2030 is driving us to keep up with market demand, and when enlarging our facilities, we will invest in more automated lines to meet the demand for high-performance glass. We look forward to increasing speed to facilitate our work with the latest ProL SPEED line,鈥 Riass Dayekh continues.

Glaston鈥檚 ProL SPEED technology has been expertly engineered to manage different glass sizes, shapes and thicknesses with smooth output flow, even when processing mixed batches. Processors like SAG can achieve a significant increase in production output and yield while making production much easier for operators,鈥 says Kimmo Kuusela, EVP Sales & Service, EMEA & APAC at Glaston.
