Ian started his career within the glass industry in 1988 working in an insulated glass (IG) manufacturing role. He then moved into a sales role and has spent 20 years selling IG consumables, mainly decorative products to date. 

Ian says: “I’m delighted to join the Thermoseal Group team as I have watched the significant development of the Group over the past 10-15 years as it has become a market leading warm edge and consumable manufacturer.

“I have known many members of the team for years having met them at events and industry socials where the camaraderie of the Group and their relationship across the industry has always been evident. Having recently spent some time in South East Asia, I also had the opportunity to work with some of the team to promote Thermobar and Thermoflex Warm Edge Spacers. So when the opportunity was presented to me following the retirement of a long-standing member of the sales team, I jumped at the chance.

“I have been at Thermoseal Group a few months now and would like to say how impressed I have been at the respect that the previous Sales Manager, Colin Cook, has built up with our customers having brought vast knowledge and experience to the role. His shoes have not been easy to fill, but I’m happy to have accepted the challenge and will do everything I can to continue with the excellent work he has done whilst bringing my own personality to the mix.

The Group’s Sales Director, Mark Hickox, says: “Whilst I’d like to wish Colin Cook all the best in his retirement and personally thank him for his years of dedication to our customers, I’m also extremely happy to welcome such a big personality as Ian to the team. I have known Ian for many years and always believed he is a great asset to any team. I know our customers will appreciate his knowledge, experience and overall commitment to the job.”
