Updated Course Features Streamlined Content, Flexible Training for Instructors, Spanish-language Option

The Fenestration and Glazing Industry Alliance (FGIA) has released an updated version of , a nationwide training and certification program for installers of windows and exterior glass doors in residential and light commercial applications for both new construction and replacement markets. The revamped version features streamlined and highly visual content, training materials that are designed to engage adult learners, flexible training options for instructors, new content from consensus-based industry standards and a comprehensive training option for Spanish speakers.

鈥淔GIA is thrilled to release a new version of its long-standing, flagship training program considered to be the most comprehensive education for installation strategies,鈥 said Aaron Blom, InstallationMasters Lead Instructor. 鈥淲e are excited to share this modernized, language-inclusive training with the industry.鈥

Streamlined Training Materials

A primary objective for the newly updated curriculum was transitioning from a traditionally text-heavy framework to a highly engaging, visual training model. To enhance user-friendliness, all course materials are now color-coded by topic, while architectural diagrams and imagery have been modernized to ensure absolute clarity. The training presentation itself has undergone a comprehensive redesign to deliver an optimized classroom experience for both instructors and participants; it now features integrated speaker notes to seamlessly guide instruction and facilitate classroom discussions. Furthermore, the presentation structure has been streamlined to eliminate redundancy, maximizing instructional efficiency.

  • , Standard Practice for the Installation of Exterior Doors in Wood Frame Construction for Extreme Wind/Water Exposure
  • , Standard Practice for the Installation of Exterior Doors in Surface Barrier Masonry Construction for Extreme Wind/Water Exposure

The inclusion of these standards was a high priority for the new version of the program as they are referenced in the strict guidelines of the Florida Building Code.

Flexible Training Options for Instructors

With the new version, only one instructor credential is being offered, covering both replacement and new construction installation and integration strategies. Accredited instructors now have the flexibility to teach any class type: combined, replacement only or new construction only, depending on the participating installers鈥 needs.
