British Glass celebrated the UK glass industry's success, championed glass's role in UK's net zero journey & marked International Year of Glass at House of Commons' Terrace Pavilion.

Sponsored by Yvette Cooper MP and attended by MPs from across the parties in Westminster, including Dan Jarvis MP, Dame Rosie Winterton MP and Marie Rimmer MP as well as members from across the glass supply chain, the event shone a light on UK glass sector and its contributions to the wider UK economy.

Commenting on the event, CEO Dave Dalton said:

鈥淲e are thankful to have this opportunity to celebrate all that makes our industry in such a prestigious venue surrounded by supporters new and old from across the glass sector and Westminster.

鈥淭he glass sector is vital to the UK economy, contributing 拢1.6bn with 150,000 jobs across the supply chain and we are continuously showing the way forward on the energy intensive sector鈥檚 journey to net zero, so to be able to get the opportunity to showcase all of the ongoing work in glass in front of key members of parliament and beyond is a great advert for our sector.

鈥淲e hope that this is just the start of meaningful relationships in Westminster and we will continue to shout about what makes the UK glass industry so great beyond the International Year of Glass.鈥
