On July 9, 2025, Vitro Architectural Glass successfully began heating up the furnace on Line #1 at its Carlisle, Pennsylvania facility after a 16-month hiatus.

The line was initially idled in early 2024 to undergo significant reconfiguration aimed at producing solar panel glass.  To celebrate the milestone at Carlisle, our CEO, Adrian Sada, several executives and their teams came for a visit to get a firsthand view of the activities happening around the Carlisle facility.  

The Visitors included Ricardo Maiz, President Vitro Architectural Glass; Javier Gutierrez, Senior VP Operations, Martin Bracamonte, VP Operations, Bill Haley, VP of US Operations, Gustavo Davila, Chief Financial Officer, Roberto Cabrera, VP Engineering and Technology, Adam Polcyn, Senior VP Research and Development; Jim McCamy, Senior Research Staff Scientist; Paul Meyenberg, Director Environmental Health and Safety.

Vitro Carlisle’s Line #1 Heats Up After 16-Month Transformation

The heat up of Line #1 marks a significant milestone for Vitro, reinforcing its commitment to innovation and sustainability in the glass manufacturing industry. The heat up will continue for 28 days and the ribbon pull at Carlisle is planned for July 30, 2025.  The Carlisle facility will continue to play a crucial role in meeting the demands of both commercial and residential glass customers.

As the plant resumes full operations, the local community and Vitro’s workforce are optimistic about the positive economic impact and the future growth opportunities this restart will bring.
