On the occasion of GIMAV鈥檚 business mission to Morocco, held in Casablanca from 4 to 7 May 2026, the international journey leading up to VITRUM 2027 was presented.

The event, a benchmark exhibition for the glass industry, is scheduled to take place from 16 to 19 November 2027 at Fiera Milano.

During the plenary session on 5 May, organised by GIMAV in collaboration with the Italian Trade Agency, GIMAV Director General Lucia Masutti announced the launch of a series of international stops that will accompany VITRUM on its path towards 2027. The aim is to present the exhibition鈥檚 new format, enhance its global positioning and involve operators and stakeholders from the main strategic markets.

Morocco represents the first stop on this international journey, designed to strengthen dialogue with countries with high growth potential and to build an increasingly global, inclusive and business-oriented platform.

VITRUM 2027 will in fact feature an evolved format, capable of expanding the exhibition鈥檚 traditional scope and engaging the entire glass supply chain in an increasingly cross-sectoral way. Alongside the sectors historically linked to technologies for flat glass processing, the new edition will also focus on the world of hollow glass and on all industrial applications in which glass represents a strategic material for innovation, sustainability and development.

At the heart of the exhibition will be the concept of the Glass Economy, understood as a productive, technological and cultural ecosystem capable of connecting different sectors: construction, automotive, design, packaging, furniture, energy and new sustainable technologies.

The objective is to build an international platform able to connect producers, processors, technology suppliers, end users, institutions and stakeholders, creating new networking, business and development opportunities for the entire sector.

The VITRUM international roadshow will continue over the coming months with further events in target markets, featuring activities dedicated to promoting the new format, engaging the international glass community and building strategic relationships with operators and buyers.

鈥淰ITRUM 2027 aims to be much more than a trade fair: we want to build an international platform capable of representing the evolution of the Glass Economy and involving the entire global glass supply chain. The international stops that will accompany the journey towards 2027 will be fundamental in presenting the new format and strengthening dialogue with strategic markets.鈥 Lucia Masutti, Director General of GIMAV

A central role in the development of the project will also be played by the new partnership with Italian Exhibition Group (IEG), which will contribute to building an exhibition that is increasingly international, innovative and oriented towards the sector鈥檚 growth.

With the international journey already underway, VITRUM 2027 confirms its evolution towards a trade fair model that is increasingly global, dynamic and connected to the main industrial and technological trends in the glass market.
