The products and technologies behind today鈥檚 building envelopes are changing rapidly, and so are the decisions architects and contractors need to make about them.

From advanced curtain wall systems and fire-rated glass to high-performance sealants, modular wall systems and new installation technologies, today鈥檚 glazing solutions can have a significant impact on design, performance, cost and project delivery.

If you鈥檙e an architect, general contractor or construction professional looking to stay ahead of these changes, mark your calendar for the on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at the FTI Toronto Training Centre.

FTI Ontario鈥檚 3 Pillars of a Stronger Glazing Industry

Hosted by FTI Ontario in partnership with and , this one-day event is built around three pillars that are shaping the future of the industry:

Innovation

Experience products and technologies in action, not just on a display table.

Throughout the day, attendees will see glazing techniques, curtain wall installation under real jobsite conditions, product demonstrations and emerging construction solutions in action. This hands-on experience provides a practical look at how today鈥檚 innovations are being applied and what they could mean for future projects.

Leading manufacturers and suppliers will be available to answer questions and demonstrate how their products improve performance, safety and efficiency.

The Expo will feature nine industry-leading exhibitors representing a broad range of products and solutions, including:

  • &

Together, these exhibitors represent many of the products and systems that go into today鈥檚 commercial buildings, from silicone sealants and fire-rated glass to automatic doors, power tools, curtain wall fabrication and modular wall systems.

Education

The Glazier Expo is designed to provide practical knowledge that can be applied immediately.

Architects will gain a better understanding of:

  • How glazing systems and materials perform in real-world applications
  • Installation considerations that influence design decisions
  • New products and fabrication capabilities
  • How fabrication and installation considerations can influence design and project outcomes
  • Opportunities to earn professional learning hours
  • Direct access to manufacturers and installation experts

General contractors will benefit by learning about:

  • New construction techniques and materials
  • Installation best practices
  • Fabrication timelines and project planning considerations
  • Technologies that improve productivity and project delivery
  • Emerging solutions that create a competitive advantage
  • How material selection and fabrication timelines can affect scheduling and project delivery

Certification

For architects and contractors, this is an opportunity to gain a better appreciation of the specialized training, precision and expertise required to bring today鈥檚 glazing systems from design to installation. Visitors can tour the FTI Toronto Glazier Training Centre, see how the next generation of skilled glaziers is being trained, and witness a live demonstration of the Architectural Glass & Metal Technician (AGMT) certification process.

More Than an Expo

What makes the Glazier Expo different is its focus on hands-on learning. This isn鈥檛 simply a traditional trade show where attendees walk from booth to booth collecting information. Attendees will engage directly with manufacturers, contractors, apprentices and instructors. They鈥檒l experience live installations, ask technical questions and build relationships that continue long after the event.

Whether you鈥檙e specifying building envelopes, managing construction projects or looking for new products and partners, you鈥檒l leave with practical knowledge you can put to work immediately.
