A+W Software announces with deep sadness the passing of its co-founder, Dr. Renate Albat.

Dr. Albat, a physics lecturer at the University of Giessen, co-founded A+W Software in 1977 alongside Dr. Dr. Bernd Wirsam with a clear vision: to reduce waste in the flat glass industry through innovative software solutions. Her dedication and scientific precision led to the creation of the first optimization programs, laying the foundation for A+W’s global success.

As a pioneer in glass cutting optimization and production planning software for the flat glass industry, Dr. Albat set new standards in the sector. Her innovative drive, entrepreneurial courage, and commitment to quality continue to influence both A+W and the wider glass industry today.

The company extends its deepest sympathy to her family and all who were close to her, and honours her legacy that continues to shape A+W Software.
