Celebrating collaboration and the innovative use of materials and products to overcome challenges, the awards have 12 categories, each judged by a panel of experts.

In particular, Hall Black Douglas Architects has been shortlisted with Topglass Contracts in the Doors & Windows category for their work on the Tropical Ravine, situated in Belfast’s Botanic Gardens.

A three year, £3.8m restoration provided a much needed update while reinstating the listed greenhouse’s Victorian features. Clear Structures worked with Topglass on the structure’s entrance and lobby screens, internal glass walls, glass balustrades and steel frames.

The renovation has helped ensure the preservation of a rich botanical collection, including some of the world’s oldest plants, for future audiences to enjoy.

For the visually striking V&A Dundee, Kengo Kuma & Associates, PiM.studio Architects and James F Stephen Architects, with Façade & Glazing Solutions UK, have been shortlisted in the Façades and Glazing category. Scotland’s first design museum opened last September and has since captured the imaginations of an international audience.

Upon entering the museum, visitors are welcomed into a captivating and spacious atrium, featuring prominent glass features designed by Clear Structures. Our work included the bolted glass balustrading to the main feature staircase and the base clamped glass to the atrium mezzanine.

The winners of the AJ Specification Awards will be announced on 15th February.
