The Japanese construction industry offers great opportunities for growth. Companies and products that are “Made in Germany” enjoy a good reputation here in particular.

For ü this is good reason to further expand the international business area. On 28 November 2018, the company founded Schueco Japan K.K, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the ü Group.

The ü Japan K.K facility is in Tokyo and will be used as both an office and a showroom. Shinji Kawahara, who became Representative Director of the business unit on 1 December 2018, will drive forward the development of ü Japan K.K. With over thirty years of experience in the construction industry, Shinji Kawahara is a recognised industry expert. During his career, he has worked for renowned global façade specialists and building suppliers.

On the Japanese market, there is a growing need for energy-efficient, sustainable and easy-to-use products for new builds modernisation and renovation projects. With its building envelope system solutions for commercial and residential buildings as well as consultation and services for architects, developers, fabricators and investors, ü aims to offer targeted innovative technological system solutions to the Japanese market.
