Florian Lindlbauer recently assumed responsibility for the glass manufacturer based in Marktheidenfeld in southern Germany. Following the acquisition by the Glas Trösch Group, OKALUX is now a part of a Swiss family company with a tradition in glass manufacturing that goes back more than a century.

As part of this realignment, the brand has been positioned more clearly. Expertise in dealing with the valuable resource of daylight has been further enhanced, international project business has been expanded and investments have been made in new and intelligent glass solutions. 

OKALUX’s long history already affords it a deep understanding of daylight planning. For decades, the company has developed architectural glass that incorporates inserts made from various materials to direct, scatter or shield the light.

From capillary tube mats to expanded metal and wooden grids: OKALUX works with the ideas of designers and planners to develop trend-setting solutions for expressive façades and interiors all around the world. Numerous large-scale projects have already been implemented under the auspices of well-known architects such as Steven Holl, Daniel Libeskind and Rem Koolhaas.

With the new claim “.Light loves glass”, the company is underlining its competence and passion for highly specialised glass solutions. The dot that precedes the claim represents the attitude of always taking the resource of daylight as the decisive starting point for finding a solution. The aim is to achieve the perfect balance between optimal utilisation, visual comfort, maximum energy efficiency and architectural aspirations.

Accordingly, the functional glasses from OKALUX are used wherever the highest of demands are placed on interior lighting conditions – for example in museums, schools, sports halls as well as industry and office buildings. Thanks to their elegant look, the glasses are also suitable for high-quality interior design.

“We love to explore the limits of the feasible,” emphasises Florian Lindlbauer, who was recently appointed the new Managing Director of OKALUX. Being an engineer in the field of windows and façades, he held a variety of management positions in the Glas Trösch Group over the past eight years, most recently as head of Sanco consulting.
