In the new University Children’s Hospital Zurich, Glas Trösch contributes with high-performance glazing to create a healing environment for children with congenital heart conditions.

Marking the Day of Children with Heart Disease in early May, Glas Trösch helped raise awareness for the strength and resilience of young patients facing congenital heart challenges.

In the new University Children’s Hospital Zurich, designed by Herzog & de Meuron, their healing is supported not only by medicine but also by space. 114 private rooms, shaped like small houses on the hospital’s rooftop, provide light, privacy and a comforting view of nature — spaces where young patients can find moments of calm and resilience.

Glas Trösch contributed to this meaningful project with triple insulating glass and SILVERSTAR solar control and thermal insulation coatings—ensuring maximum safety, energy efficiency, and natural daylight.

Alongside architecture and technology, it’s the people and initiatives that make a difference: EVHK (Parents' association for the child with heart disease) offers families affected by congenital heart disease vital help and hope — a cause worth supporting.
