The revitalisation of the Minoteries housing complex in Geneva demonstrates how energy-efficient refurbishment can preserve urban identity while significantly reducing emissions. Originally constructed in the 1970s, the buildings were comprehensively modernised by Itten+Brechbühl AG and completed in 2021.

To meet today’s energy standards, a central focus was the thermal optimisation of the façade. Glas Trösch supplied triple insulating glass units with SILVERSTAR N2plus coating, enhancing thermal insulation while ensuring high daylight transmission. This solution supports lower energy consumption and was key to achieving the building’s Minergie and HPE certification.
