Hydro completed the acquisition of Hueck on February 28, following approval from competition authorities in Germany and Austria.

The acquisition strengthens Hydro鈥檚 presence in Germany and other European markets, and creates a solid platform for further growth in Extrusions and Building Systems.

鈥淗ueck is in many ways a perfect fit for Hydro Extrusions. With our new colleagues on board, we instantly grow our market share in the important German markets for both Building Systems and Extrusions. We look forward to meeting the people and together we will write new chapters in the history of both companies,鈥 says Executive Vice President of Hydro Extrusions, Paul Warton.

Germany is the largest segment of the European market for building systems and aluminium extrusions. With the acquisition, Hydro will have five extrusion facilities, three recycling facilities and a total of 2,000 employees in the country. This includes 200 technicians who are specialists in creating solutions for windows, doors and facades for the building and construction industry.

Hydro Extrusions is one of Hydro鈥檚 strategic growth areas and announced growth investments worth NOK 1.9 billion during 2022.
