The Hotel Silken Saaj, in Las Palmas of Gran Canaria, has become a few months in the great feeling of the high quality urban tourist accommodation in the Canary Islands.

This Four star not only stands out for the excellence of its rooms, services, personal treatment and location in front of the beach of Las Alcaravaneras. In its start-up, all the details have been carefully cared for inside and outside this sixstorey complex. And its façade has made it an unmistakable reference as a translation of the avant-garde design that has prevailed in the project.

This perception has much to do with the contribution of the Tvitec transformer. The facade of the Saaj Hotel is the result of a capricious as a measure composition of dichroic glass slats that changes color according to the reflection of the wonderful Canarian sky.

And to achieve this aesthetic result the reality is that in the manufacture of glazed units Tvitec has had to put all its professionalism and innovation capacity at the service of the competent prescriptions team of architects led by Juan José Martínez Altimira and Juan Jose Martínez Rodríguez, from the UAD Study.

For the exterior Tvitec manufactured almost 500 meters of glass 10 + 10 mm tempered with different shapes and dichroic sheets of EVA manufactured by the company Pujol. But they were not the only products that the leading company in the sector in Spain supplied.

Also made for interior circular mirrors, elongated of various sizes and 56 Japanese style bathroom doors with tempered Master Ligne glass of 6 mm, as explained by the technical manager of Perfiles Industriales Tvitec, Roque Deniz.

Also installed 100 meters of curtain wall SG52 of Cortizo with double glazing 5 + 5 extraclear/C16 with profile SG/5 + 5 mm and sealed with structural silicone; 10 + 10 colorless laminates for handrails with Cortizo View Glass system. And two curtain walls with glass buttoned 10 + 10 mm Extraclear in the divisions of a flirty and striking hall of events. The height of these glasses reaches 5.5 meters.

Nothing however as technically complicated as guaranteeing the quality and the effects pursued with the dichroic glazing in the main face of the hotel. Although, as one of the technical managers of Tvitec, the engineer Víctor Abad pointed out: "After facing the challenge of manufacturing a product as unique and complex as this laminate of free forms with insertions of dichroic sheets, the result has put Highlight what Tvitec can achieve thanks to its professionals and the close collaboration with its suppliers”.

And on the other hand the satisfaction of achieving a result as imaginative as spectacular, which today adorns the facade of this hotel in our insular geography. "Thus The dichroic glass sheets change color with the reflection of the canary sky and simulate a placid sea of waves polychrome on the facade.
